People are often confused between the difference in Milgrain and Pave setting.

Milgrain – which can also be spelled 'millgrain' – is a jewelry design technique you have probably seen before, but may have never noticed. Derived from the French 'mille-grain', which translates to “a thousand grains”, milgrain detailing is a close-set row of metal beads that are typically used as a border. This engagement ring has a Milgrain Edge.

Which cut makes a diamond look bigger?

Elongated stones, such as oval, emerald, and marquise shapes, tend to make the diamond look bigger for its carat weight

Why Are Wedding Rings Worn On Our Left Hands?

The tradition dates back to the ancient Rome. The Romans believed that the left ring finger contained a vein that connects back to the heart directly (vena amoris), while the circular shape of the band symbolizes eternity and the notion of immortal love.

By wearing the ring on your left finger, you were connecting your spouse to your heart and telling the world that your partner was the closest thing to your heart.

DIAMOND TALK: How Much Should An Engagement Ring Cost? I'm sure we have all heard the old saying that an engagement ring should cost about two months of your salary Recent from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that works out to roughly $6,400, on average. That's pretty close to the average engagement ring cost of $5,978, according to The Knot’s 2015 Bridal Jewelry Trends Report. According to GOBankingRates survey of 5,000 adults indicates that popular opinion on how much an engagement ring should cost reflects a stark contrast with reality. (see photo) Interestingly enough the the most popular response to “How much do you feel should be spent on an engagement ring?” was less than $1,000. At Coffrin Jewelers we recommend you set a budget and stick to it Start designing your ring https://goo.gl/6Ldfzb

BE AWARE: The 3 Most Common Places Jewelry Thieves Thrive on

Jewelry theft can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere.

According to our friends at Jewelers Mutual (who process claims everyday for stolen jeweler) they have revealed the top 3 places jewelry is stolen from along with tips to prevent and protect yourself

3. The Gym- While working up a sweat make sure your jewelry stays where you left it. Gyms are a common place for thieves to steal jewelry, be sure you lock your gym locker if you store any jewelry in it and consider a small container to tuck your jewelry in rather then it floating around in your gym bag. If possible plan to leave your valuables at home in a secure place before going to the gym.

2. Your Car- Your vehicle is the second most common place where jewelry is stolen. Do not leave jewelry in plain sight, including in cup holders or side door compartments. Remember to lock your doors and roll up your windows because many cars are broken into minutes after the owner walks away. If you have a garage use it and if you park outside do not leave your garage door opener in your vehicle.

1.Your Jewelry Box- Even though we consider our home to be a safe space, it is also the most commonplace jewelry is stolen from. You need to store your jewelry in a secure location other then your dresser drawers or jewelry box. Consider installing quality locks on your doors and windows, including deadbolts on main entrances or better yet install a security system and use it. Be sure to make it look like you’re home when you aren’t, use automatic times on interior and exterior lights, have your mail picked up daily and your yard groomed.

It’s a good idea to keep anything of value locked up and out of sight anytime you have people over that you don’t know that well, like contractors, painters, maids or even babysitters. You can never be too careful when protecting your valuables.

WATCH WEDNESDAY: 10 Basic Parts Of A Watch You Should Know

1. Bezel- The ring surrounding the watch face. They can be plain, sometimes decorative and sometimes functional. The bezel to a watch is like the outer ring of a mason jar. It holds the crystal in place just like the metal ring hold the lid in place.

2. Case- The housing of the watch, it can be made of plastic, ceramic or metal. However fine watches often use gold, silver, platinum or rhodium.

3. Crown- The knob on the side of the watch that you use to set the time but can also serve additional functions depending on the watch.

4. Crystal- The clear part of the watch that protects the dial, hands etc. This part can be made of plastic, glass or synthetic sapphire.

5. Dial- The part that actually displays the time. On a digital watch, this is the numeric display and the dial consists of the hour markers and hands on a traditional watch.

6. Hand- The hands move over the dial itself and point at the hour markers to indicate the time.

7. Hour Marker- The actual numeric number on the watch face, usually 1-12

8. Lugs- Small metal pieces that attach the watch case to the straps- like lug nuts that hold your time to your car axle

9. Pusher- Similar to the crown- a button on the side of the watch that controls other functions like the date.

10. Subdial- A small dial inset into the main watch dial. Used for secondary functions, like displaying seconds or a chronograph.

BONUS: Movement- The inside of the watch as many little parts and we aren’t going to do through those but just know that the interior of the watch as a whole is called the movement.

5 Reasons to Wear an Enso Ring

Here are some reasons why wearing an Enso silicone band is right for you:

1. They are very comfortable- You will forget you are even wearing it- It always stay securely and comfortable on your finger whether you have eaten too much salt or doing anything remotely active.

2. They’re safe- wearing a metal ring for work is just not a safe or viable option for some. Wedding bands pose a serious risk of irreversible “ring avulsion” or tearing of the soft tissue which can cause partial or total loss of a finger.

3. They’re versatile- being able to go straight from work to the gym or field without having to worry about taking your ring off.

4. They’re cool- Let’s get real…who would wear it if it didn’t look good

5. They’re replaceable- they are inexpensive, compared to the hundreds and thousands of dollars people spend on an engagement rings and wedding bands.

Part 4 of Resizing a Ring- The Thickness of the Ring

It’s pretty simple, the thicker the ring the more expensive it is to resize it. More ring= more material.

The width of the band isn’t the only thing that contributes to the overall thickness. Does your ring have a flat bottom? A flat bottom is called a European or Euro shank. Many people like this style because it helps stop your ring from spinning around your finger. If you need resizing, a euro shank does add to the cost because the corners have more metal weight.
